P90X3 PiYo Challenge Update Week 3

Phew!! This week really kicked my butt. We are in the middle of moving and I’m trying really hard to stay consistent with my workouts. Meals haven’t been perfect but, I have pre-made salads and my Shakeology ready to go at a moments notice so that when hunger strikes I can fight back.



Tony crippled me on Friday with P90X3 Accelator so yesterday’s PiYo Sculpt was less than ALL IN. I haven’t been sticking with my 6am wakeup this week because we are working so late into the night training new coaches and packing up the house.

What I love about my meal plan is that I get a little treat in each day and I don’t feel deprived like I have in the past.

And while PiYo and P90X3 aren’t consistent with my intensity during 21 Day Fix and Insanity programs I have to say they are growing on me and PiYo JUST MIGHT be my absolute favorite workout. I’m seriously considering getting certified to teach it. Unlike my Insanity classes I think PiYo is more universal in appeal and easily modified to fit every fitness level without intimidating. And, the flexibility factor is amazing for anyone, beginner to advanced, young and old.

I’m uber excited for Hardcore on the Floor this upcoming week and Drench is going to kill me 😉 I haven’t gone on my run yet today but I’m feeling like it’s going to be a dusk run to just let go of what this week has put me through mentally.

Aden’s birthday is on Saturday. It’s breaking my heart we didn’t get to do the birthday party we had planned for him. But, I’m trying to stay positive and know that everything will work out and he’ll know he’s loved and have fun no matter what we do (after a garage sale in the morning and cleaning our old house in the afternoon).

We have never gotten notice and moved within the same month before evvva so it’s grappling my mind to make sure everything is done and ready to go when it’s time to load the truck up on Friday. Keep us in your prayers!!!! ❤

Let me know what you like or don’t like about my meal plan! I loved this one from the week before so much I used it again! I’m a creature of habit and could eat the same thing day in and day out if I was pressed for ideas. My treat meal on Saturday was a Papa Napoli’s hot pastrami sandwich with mustard! OH em gee if I could only eat THOSE everyday! It was a real TREAT!!

PiYo P90X3 Week 2 Progress Update – 6 steps to get back on track

Week 2 of my P90X3/PiYo hybrid schedule is in the bag and I’m on to Week 3!!

I will admit I have been having a hard time getting those workouts in consistently. And my eating, well, it’s been a little 60/40. There are no workouts that will out exercise too many calories, carbs, sugars, etc.

It’s time for a little Coach Momma T TOUGH LOVE!

My own best advice I would give one of my challengers or clients:


1. Schedule your workouts in the a.m.morning workouts

2. Create a meal plan

4. Throw away anything in the kitchen that might distract you from your goals

I truly feel that the hope of instant results is the reason that so many people fail. They are not willing to see it through.  We expect instant gratification and instant transformation.  It’s not going to happen. I mean it literally took me 1 round of Insanity (60days) to lose 15 lbs then it took me 60 days of T25, and 3 rounds of 21 Day Fix to get in the best shape of my life.  Honestly, it wasn’t an overnight deal.  I learned how to change my diet, to strip it down, to cut out foods that were causing me to hang onto weight and it took will power.  I remember all the things I held strong with, birthday cake, ice cream, donuts, cookies at Christmas, drinks at the bar!  It was a sacrifice because I wanted to change more than I wanted to remain the same. It’s the same with you!  How bad do you want it.  If you bought PiYo then stick with it!  You invested the money now give it 100% each and every day with the workouts and the nutrition plan and have a friendly contest with yourself to see if you can have a better transformation than the girl in the infomercial.  I’m going to be right there with YOU!! Anything that you put your whole heart into you are going to succeed at!  That’s the bottom line!!!!

What is PiYo?


If you follow Team Beachbody, Chalene Johnson or my fitness journey then you know that I absolutely love and adore Chalene Johnson.  My first experience with Chalene was in Turbofire which is a high intensity, cardio kickboxing, HIIT workout!  It was like a dance party for adults.  The results were off the hook.  I never had muscle definition and tone in my life.  So when Beachbody announced that they will be launching another Chalene Johnson home fitness program I was ecstatic.  I had the pleasure of trying Piyo with my upline team last fall.  It’s an awesome combination of high intensity, low impact moves to improve your flexibility, stamina, and strength.  It is yoga and pilates inspired but it pulls it all together to actually give you a cardio workout as well.
The key is that it gives you results such as defined muscles, abs, core strength without the weights, the pounding of your joints and jumping around.  It’s the perfect workout for those with mobility, joint and limitations due to injury or past experiences.
So why do I think that Piyo is going to be an awesome program to have?

Because it is unlike anything else out there.  You can still get a cardio workout, without the stress on your joints.  You can have Chalene’s awesome motivating and inspirational personality every day for 90 days in the comfort of your own home.  You can feel the burn for days afterwards!  I had the opportunity to test out a Piyo workout myself. Each Elite Coach got a copy of Piyo Sweat as a sneak peak.  Let me just tell you that I left the 35 minute workout sweating, my booty was burning and I could feel it the next day.  But I wasn’t bouncing around, jumping or doing crazy complex moves.  It was a controlled movement that left me actually feeling energized vs defeated.
I am asked quite often why Team Beachbody doesn’t have a Yoga Series.  Well this is it! This is going to be a game changer for so many people who love Yoga and want an option to do it from home.

Your diet isn’t working…

Your diet isn’t working. You are exercising, you are counting calories, you are pre-measuring your food but it just feels like it isn’t happening fast enough! You are tempted to listen to that advertisement you just saw and drop big dollars on pills that are promising fast fat loss! You are considering signing up for that costly spa treatment that promises to “melt fat” and get you “thin quick!” You may even pick up a jar of that expensive cream that promises to “rid your body of cellulite” Before you decide that your diet isn’t working and sign up for those expensive treatments take a look at these facts:

It is all MATH and this is a fact. It takes 3500 calories to lose one lb of fat. In order to lose 2 lbs a week you need to burn or deplete 7000 calories. 2 lbs a week may not seem like a lot but that is 104 lbs in a YEAR! WOW… when you lose more then 2 lbs a week you are tapping into water and muscle and it is not a long term solution…

Starvation and severe calorie restriction will not work. If you eat too little and too infrequently you will slow down your metabolism and train your body to STORE fat. It is best to spread out your meals into 5-6 mini meals to feed your body and rev your metabolism regularly. It is very dangerous to go under 1200 calories a day ever. Eating this little puts your body in starvation mode and teaches it to store fat.

Output must exceed input! If you eat more calories then you BURN you WILL GAIN weight… If calories in exceed calories out you will gain weight. PERIOD. YES you should be eating protein, healthy carbohydrates, and healthy fats but PORTIONS still matter. Too many calories of ANY type of food will cause you to gain weight.

LIES. If it sounds too good to be true then it IS too good to be true. The only way to LOSE FAT and to keep it off is to WORKOUT HARD and EAT CLEAN. Body wraps, cellulite reduction cream, gimmicky food restriction diets, juice fast, pills that promise things will all help you lose WATER WEIGHT and MUSCLE but will NOT help you lose fat….!

You have to SWEAT. I know what the magazines say. Long walks in the park, doing laundry and household chores, lifting your groceries are all exercise. I call BS. Unless you are working out with intensity and sweat you will not make changes to your body.

Day 12 Gah. Proud and accountable!! It’s not the falling off that hurts so much as the getting back up. On the left I was “too busy” and eating whatever I wanted while occasionally working out. I was being LAZY! And it felt yucky. On the right I am following my own best advice and eating 6 meals a day and working out for 30 minutes a day. NO EXCUSES! And it feels aaahhhhhhmmmmmmmaaaaaaZING!
