Sunrise Sunset Shakeology Recipe

I sometimes get so busy in my day that dinner escapes me. The kids eat leftovers. Tom comes home and snacks on the same. I don’t want to eat something heavy or hard to prepare so I make a delicious Shakeology shake! I know it’s giving me more of all the nutrients I need to restore my body after difficult workouts, less calories than a run to Subway, and on the scale of taste it’s a 10!!

Then Tom is happy too because while the kids have an after dinner treat like a Popsicle or ice cream he “treats” himself to a Shako shake instead with me!!

I got a lot of questions when I posted our cute duet Shakos on Facebook the other day so I thought I would put together the recipe to share with you!!

Keep in mind I usually mix my Shako with water, club soda, or almond milk. It’s only a special treat to indulge in and won’t promote weightloss if you drink it like this everyday 😉

 

Sunrise or Sunset Shako Recipe

2 oz orange juice

1/2 scoop Results & Recovery Formula

3 Tbsp Chobani Vanilla Yogurt

Fill with ice

1 Heavy handed scoop of Tropical Strawberry Shakeology

8-10 oz of fresh filtered water

Shake the ingredients all up in your shaker cup or blend in your blender (your choice)

Overnight Nutella Oats Recipe

Hahahaha! I don’t know about you but, I LOVE NUTELLA in all forms! I could eat it on a spoon, a piece of toast, celery, pancakes, in a smoothie, on a boat hahaha you catch my drift 😉

So, I’ve never really mastered the overnight oats and honestly it took me a few times trying to actually enjoy cold oats. But I can honestly say that now I’m in heaven! I LOVE MY COLD COACH’S OATS!

Last night I made Nutella on multi-grain Milton’s toast. It’s my ultimate sinful treat! I polished off the last of the Nutella and right before I threw the jar in the recycle bin it hit me… I mean I usually make overnight oats in a bowl or mason jar but, WHY NOT MY NUTELLA JAR!! “lightbulb!”

If you haven’t made overnight oats before you will have to tinker with my recipe to get the consistency that you enjoy but here’s mine:

NUTELLA PB OVERNIGHT OATS (Makes 4 servings)

1 empty 26 oz Nutella jar

1 cup Coach’s Oats (or rolled oats your choice)

2 Tbsp chia seeds

1 cup almond or coconut milk (you can also sub with any other liquid)

1/2 cup coconut water (you can also sub with any other liquid)

1 Tbsp all natural peanut, almond, or seed butter

1 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp maple syrup

Mix all ingredients. Close the jar and shake shake shake senora! Steep in the refrigerator overnight or 6 hours. Stir to fluff and BAM! Enjoy!!! Promise me you won’t eat the whole thing in one sitting!! 😉 Tell me if you try it out and keep in mind to cut the recipe if you’re using a smaller jar.

Chia Seed Pudding

Vegan, Gluten Free, Fiber Rich, and Yummy?  Is it POSSIBLE?

Yes it is!  With this Chia Seed Pudding!

 

Why Chia Seeds?

chia puddingChia seeds are a plant-based COMPLETE protein. They are also the RICHEST plant source of omega 3 Fatty Acids. And, did you know that by weight, they even have more omega 3′s than salmon?

If you eat chia seeds with a meal or in your smoothie, they ‘can’ help balance your blood sugar.

Their unique combination of soluble and insoluble fiber (1 ozs contains 11 grams of fiber, 42% of the RDA) combine to slow down your body’s conversion of starches into sugars along with their high protein content.

Fiber also helps to balance your blood sugar level and give you steady energy levels.

They are also high in calcium and by weight, they have MORE calcium than whole milk. They also contain magnesium and boron which help your body to absorb the calcium.

Oh, and what about Anti-oxidants?

YES!  Chia seeds are like blueberries, but are much more versatile in terms of cooking and baking with them. In addition to MANY nutritional advantages, chia seeds may also aid in weight loss due to the high fiber and protein content.

The reason is that chia seeds have a high fiber content and absorb water up to 50 times their weight, expanding in your stomach giving you the feeling of being full for hours all while eating less.

The Recipe

Here is what you need:

1/3 cup CHIA SEEDS
1 1/2 cup UNSWEETENED Almond/Coconut milk
1 tbsp maple syrup
1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Add all ingredients into a jar (mason jar is great), and then SHAKE, SHAKE SHAKE it!   Chill overnight, and ready to eat the next day.  Feel free to add fruit (I added strawberries, raspberries and pineapple).  It is SO GOOD!

What is your “WHY?”

“I have tried so many times, BUT…”

“I need to workout but can’t find the time…”

“I can’t seem to stay (or get) motivated”BECAUSE I WANT TO LOOK GOOD

“It is too hard to eat right…”

“I workout for a day or two, I don’t see results, so I stop…”

Are any of these you? If you are looking for answers on fixing the above I am going to turn this back to you and ask a very important question:  What is your why?

The KEY to your Success

It is impossible to stay committed and determined to do ANYTHING unless you know your “WHY”.  The “why” is the REAL reason, the DRIVING reason that you WANT to change, workout, get healthy, or whatever it is that you truly want to do.

You can’t change for someone else and you can’t change for non significant reasons. You can ONLY change if your WHY becomes important and visible.

How do you find your why?

Block out some time and put a lot of thought into this. WHAT is your why?

Flip through magazines and see what appeals to you and consider making a vision board which can help reveal some deep desires and why’s to you. Do some soul searching and get serious in your thinking here.

Is it for health?
To feel GREAT daily?
For more energy?
To be around and active for your children?
There is no wrong “why”, it just needs to have meaning and be personal to YOU!

Along those lines, you can’t take somebody else’s why and make it yours.  Doesn’t matter that your family, doctor, friends, etc., think something should be important to you.  YOU have to make it important to YOU!

Once you get to the route of what your “why” is, it CHANGES and DRIVES you.  All of a sudden solutions will start presenting themselves to your problems.  The hurdles become crystal clear and you start to take action and make things happen.  All because you found out what dives you, you found your why.

Discovering ywhy and howour WHY is the most important step to changing as it gets your mind right.  It is a critical first step that I include in my programs because once you find your “why” and your mind is focused, you cannot be stopped!

When your mind is active and focused on positive things, you WILL get positive results the exact same way an unsure and unfocused mind gets poor results.

If you are ready to make a change and find the answer to whatever your dilemma may be (no time, lack of motivation, etc.),  FIND YOUR WHY …and the answer will come to you.

Snacktime! Momma T’s Salsa Egg Boats

Before hunger sets in be pro-active! Throw some eggs into some hot water and boil approx. 10 minutes.

Crack, shell and divide each egg in half putting yolks into a side bowl.

Mash the yolk with your favorite mustard and S&P to taste.

I use a melon baller to re-scoop the yolks back into the whites then top with my favorite salsa.

Instant YUM!

200 calories. 5g fat.

Shako Truffles YUM.

It is unreal the amount of goodness packed into these amazing little balls!! My kids gobble them up! You can call them energy bites, Shako Splendor, Tummy Yumminess. I call them MINE 😉

RECIPE:

No-Bake Cookies
Total Time: 10 min.
Prep Time: 10 min.
Yield: 25 cookies

Ingredients:
• 1 cup natural peanut butter or almond butter
• 1 cup quick cooking oats
• ½ cup honey
• 1 cup Chocolate Shakeology, or your flavor of choice

Preparation:
1. Combine peanut butter, honey, oats and Shakeology in medium bowl. Mix well.
2. Roll 24 balls, each the size of 1 tbsp. and then toss is loose Shakeology powder.

3. Refrigerate or Freeze for 1 hour.

Note: you can also add in milk, water, almond milk, coconut milk, etc. by the dropful if it seems the mix is too dry.

Optional mix-ins: coconut, raisins, pepitas, flax seed, chia seeds, etc.

Substitution: PB2 available, comment if you need the conversion

Yummy sunny bell pepper eggs!

I worked out hard this morning and was STARVING! This really hit the spot!

Momma T’s Sunshine Eggs!!

1 bell pepper (your favorite color-mine is yellow or red)

2 eggs

Mozzarella (or your favorite cheese)

Salsa (optional)

Salt & Pepper, to taste

Start with a little coconut oil in a pan on medium-high heat. Slice your bell pepper in about 1/2-3/4″ slices.

Sauté the pepper slices for a minute or two.

When you start to add the egg go slowly so the heat can cook the egg and form a seal at the base of the pepper (otherwise it will all seep out immediately). Turn the heat down to low-medium. Flip after 2 minute. Salt and pepper to taste. Once the egg cooks to your liking, flip one more time and add shredded cheese to melt.

Top with salsa or your choice of condiment.
